Custom Knobs and Drawer Pulls
I am pleased to announce that I am now able to make custom fused glass knobs and drawer pulls. People mostly use these for kitchen cabinets but I am happy to talk about making handles for chests of drawers and the like too.
The way this works is I get bases from from D. Lawless Hardware and make fused glass faces for them. These fit standard cabinets and drawers.
I am able to make drawer pulls in a variety of designs, including a plain rectangular shape, a rope design, a design with raised dots, and several others. For the knobs I can do both free-form organic shapes (these will all be a little different) or simple round circles.
The list below will give you a rough idea of how much the different options will cost.
It can take up to a month for me to make these; more if your project is bigger than one kitchen.
Interested? Send me a message through the contact form.
Basic Prices
- Drawer Pulls: $35+ each, plus hardware costs (usually about $4 each). Available in several shapes, including a twisted rope shape, a dot shape, or just plain rectangles.
- Knobs: $15+ each, plus hardware costs (usually about $1 each). The $15 starting point is for knobs that are between 7/8 of an inch and an inch. I have round molds that are about 1 1/4 inch ($18) and 1 and 1/2 inch ($22). I can also do freeform shapes like you see on many of my pendants ($22+) or heart shapes ($22+).
Premium Options
- Premium colors include some, but not all, shades of purple and pink. I can usually mix these with whites or clears in order to increase the vibrancy and reduce costs, though.
- Dichroic is available for drawer pulls and knobs, but I can only do square, rectangle or freeform shapes for it, and it will end up being much more expensive than non-dichroic glass. If you are interested in dichroic I can send you the catalogues of my usual suppliers and you can pick out color combinations you find interesting.
- Murrini/Millifiori is available for drawer pulls and knobs; if you are interested in having me get you a special pattern from another artisan to create intricate millifiori shapes or other patterns within the final pieces I would be happy to turn their work into a finalized piece for you. If you're interested in doing this I can send you the catalogues of the artisans I usually buy murrini from and you can pick something out.
- Swirling designs made from twisted cane I get from other artisans are also available; I can send you the catalogues of the artists I usually buy cane from and you can pick out one or more color combinations that you think would suit your needs.
